During first two days of Mission Fateh-2.0, the Punjab Government’s initiative to make villages Corona free, 6.3 lakh households have been surveyed by the ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) covering the population of 17.7 lakh.
Disclosing this in a press communiqué, the Health Minister said that out of these individuals, 631 have been tested positive for Covid-19. He said that as Punjab’s rural areas registering an alarmingly increase in the positivity rate, the Government of Punjab has launched Mission Fateh 2.0 (Corona Mukt Pind Abhiyan) to contain the spread of the deadly contagion and to ensure COVID-free villages.
The Health Minister said that Corona Fateh kits have been provided to all the 617 patients in home isolation whereas 17 patients have been referred to L2/L3 facility.
A total of 126 pregnant women have been tested positive in Punjab, so far he said adding that regular monitoring of pregnant women is being done by CHOs and treatment is being provided as per protocol.
The Minister advised to people that no medicine to be provided to any Covid-19 positive pregnant women without prescription of doctor.
Mr. Sidhu divulged that instructions have been issued to all the Community Health Officers to immediately report and highlight the COVID-19 pregnant women cases to concerned Senior Medical Officer at Block level and at State Headquarters. He said that they have been asked to report even the family members of the pregnant women are positive. He said that besides this, special attention being paid on high risk groups who are hypertension and diabetes patients.
Giving details about the Mission Fateh-2.0, the Minister said that in every village, a door to door survey is being done by ASHAs to check for COVID symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath. The information of suspected person is immediately being shared by ASHA with CHO and SMO than the suspected person is tested for COVID immediately and necessary treatment as per protocol is being provided to the patient.
He divulged that all the Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Health Wellness Centre (HWCs) and Sub-Centres havebeen provided with adequate logistics like Rapid Antigen Kits, Mission Fateh kits, necessary medicines, PPE kits, Pulse Oximeters, Digital Thermometers, Sanitizers, Masks and any other item required to perform this survey. He said that this survey will be completed in 15 days to break the chain of coronavirus.
