The government of Bangladesh has extended the ongoing closure of all educational institutions till Aug 31 in view of the continuing COVID 19 pandemic in the countryThe Qawmi madrasas and Ebtedayee Madrasas will also remain closed till August 31, said the press release issued by the Ministry of Education. Earlier, the educational institutions were closed till July 31.
The government has taken the decisions based on the recommendation of the National Technical Advisory Committee considering the interest of the students, teachers and employees of the school. Educational Institutions have remained closed since March 17 last year. Bangladesh recorded the second highest number of infections in a single day on Thursday. The sample positivity rate also continues to be close to 30 percent despite the countrywide lockdown in force since July 23.
