Capital city Dhaka in Bangladesh witnessed almost three hours of rain early in the morning of Tuesday causing disruption to normal life due to waterlogging in several areas of the city.The rain started early in the morning around 6 a.m. and continued till 9.00 a.m. The weather is still cloudy.
According to the Met Department of Bangladesh Dhaka received 85 mm of rain on Tuesday morning.Areas like Rampura, Badda and Mirpur, Mohakhali, Dhanmondi and Malibagh reported huge waterlogging causing difficulty to the office goers in the morning.
Several shops and houses in the low lying areas were submerged due to the heavy downpour.Traffic congestion was reported from many areas due to breakdown of vehicles and water logged roads.The Met department has predicted rain till Wednesday.According to its forecast moderate rain accompanied by gusty wind is likely to occur over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions of the country.
