Pam Gosal created history when she became first member of Scottish Parliament who recited Gurbani on occasion of taking oath as Member Parliament.
When her name was announced for formal oath taking, she first recited Khalsa salutation, ‘Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh’, which is a slogan of wishing people present.
She then recited hymn of Gurbani written by Guru Nanak Dev ji called ‘Mool Mantar’ in Sikh religion. She had brought religious book with her and after taking oath she bowed before it and again recited Khalsa salutation. While taking oath she kept Gutka Sahib in her hand.
